Hi, its your local hair fairy Morsa. I have been in the beauty industry for 7 years and a licensed cosmetologist for 4, but honestly my journey goes way back. It all started with a $10 box of SPLAT hair dye and my desire to stick it to the man!! (My very traditional Mexican mother) With the help of a friend, who asked me multiple times “Are you sure about this?”, I achieved my goal. I dyed a quarter of my hair the only shade of pink available at the local Walgreens, Pink Fetish.

The only 2 things I love more than hair is BTS and Megan The Stallion. I am a proud turtle mom to my 22 year old Gemini queen Speedy. When I’m not behind the chair you can find me at the gym, the gun range, a cute little forest preserve, or at your local antifa meeting (this is just a joke Mr.FBI agent).
About the Coup
Coup de Cariño was created to be a safe space for all. Whether you want to talk about the world or need a moment away from it . Come as you are! Unless you’re like a fascist, racist, homophobic, or xenophobic. The only hate allowed in my chair is that of ICE and our current administration.
As a queer plus size person of color, I understand how the beauty industry has been used continuously to make people like me feel less than. Even more than that, hair is political.
There are so many outdated beliefs and practices in the industry. Coup de Cariño rejects them all! No more awkward tipping culture. No more unpredictable color fees. No more frustrating double booking and absolutely no more products that use cruel practices like animal testing. The industry is changing and Coup de Cariño is proud to be part of that change.
